This procedure is one solution for not being able to view or open an image that is an attachment or is supposed to be part of the e-mail's stationary.
Open Outlook Express
On the MENU bar click TOOLS, and from the list left click OPTINS from that list.
Left click the SECURITY tab across the top
In the virus protection section, the last item reads as follows: Do not allow attachments to be opened that could potentially be a virus. If a check is present, remove the check in the box preceding this option.
When a user logs onto the Microsoft Windows Update site and install one of the security updates, that update adds the check mark to prevent image attachments from being saved or viewed.
Microsoft assumes that users does not keep their Antivirus programs up to date. Not to worry if your Norton, McAfee, AVG Antivirus programs are maintained with Auto Update you should be OK
